On December 29, 1943, she was united in marriage to Jacob Rozendaal. To this union they welcomed three children: Norman, Bonnie and Phyllis. They made their home on a farm north of Otley where Bertha worked alongside Jacob for 37 years. During their time on the farm, they attended Otley Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school. Following retirement in 1980, they moved to Pella. They became members of Trinity Reformed Church in 1982. Some of her hobbies were gardening, flowers, reading and crafts with the Farm Bureau ladies. She also enjoyed being a member of the Summit Homemakers Club.
