Jason Kent Pothoven

Jason Kent Pothoven was born February 9, 1971 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the son of John Phillip and Joni Kathleen (Loumsbury) Pothoven.
Jason was raised in Oskaloosa and Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Newton High School with the Class of 1989. He then attended A.I.B. in Des Moines. Jason worked for Hy-Vee, as a bakery manager, at different locations for several years. He was currently employed at Pella Corp in the accounts receivable department. Jason was united in marriage to April Thomas on May 23, 2009. The couple have always made Knoxville their home.
Jason was a huge Knoxville race fan, in fact he loved watching anything with a motor that went fast. In his spare time, he also enjoyed following pro athletics, particularly the cowboys and studying civil war history. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, especially his daughter and son.
Jason passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 47 years.
Those left to cherish Jason's memory include his wife, April; children: Abby and Larry Pothoven; parents: John Pothoven and Joni (Rich) Bailey; sisters: Beverly Kelso and Laura Rose; 9 nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Wendy Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Seth Pregon and many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jason Pothoven, age 47 of Knoxville, will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the New Covenant Church. Burial will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the New Covenant Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
