Marvel Linn James

Marvel Linn James was born October 3, 1959 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of Larry and Caroline (Padgett) James.
Marvel was raised in Harvey. She spent much of her life as an over-the-road truck driver. Marvel operated her own trucking company, F.T.W. Trucking. She was forced to retire due to health reasons a few years ago. Marvel was always available to help friends and family members. She was currently raising her granddaughter, Serena. Marvel was a fun-loving person that could light up a room with her smile and energy.
Marvel passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home at the age of 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda DeVries and her mother, Caroline.
Those left to cherish Marvel's memory include her sons: Shawn and Shane; 3 grandchildren, Serena, Quaid and Cyrus; brother, Dewayne "Hop" James; sister, Selina (Jim) Agey; friend, Tina Schakel and many other family members and friends. Marvel has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. On line condolences may be left at BertrandFuneralHomes.com.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
